The buck stops with the Responsible Person. The Responsible Person must arrange a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment, review it regularly and act on its findings. This includes informing and training staff about fire risks, implementing appropriate fire safety measures and planning for emergencies.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Responsible Person has a legal duty to ensure fire precautions are adequate and that fire protection systems are properly installed and maintained by competent providers.
