How can access control systems help with safeguarding in schools?

The most important way is by restricting entry to unauthorised individuals. A professionally designed access control system allows reception staff to control access to the school. Visitors and staff can be provided with a fob or card.

As required, this allows a member of staff to either:

grant access to visitors
control staff access to areas during certain time periods related to their work
restrict pupils from exiting areas during certain time periods

What about access control at different times of the day?

Your system is controlled via a networked computer that can apply all kinds of rules. So if you need varying levels of access to different personnel at different times of the day, your system can handle it. That’s useful to allow the cleaning team access to clean specific areas of the building during the night but deny them entry during the day.

How soon can you do the work?

Well, it does depend on the workload but we usually get the work done within a week. Although, we have sometimes been asked to start work the next day and can often oblige. This speedy turnaround is possible for three reasons.

We carry a lot of the equipment we need back at our HQ in Southend, so no waiting for deliveries!
If we don’t have the right equipment in stock we work closely with a local Fermax supplier in Basildon – so we can get hold of your equipment quickly.
Other suppliers, such as BFT offer very fast turnaround.

Do you supply and fit Paxton access control equipment?

Absolutely! We are proud Gold installers for Paxton.

The high standard of manufacture and finish make this a great brand to work with. The software is powerful but simple to use, and the system is easy to add on to in the future.

What is "Secured by Design"?

Secured by Design is a national Police crime initiative. Accreditation is only awarded to products that meet established security requirements. This signposts people to companies and products that meet high standards to deter and reduce crime.
