A lockdown is the complete opposite of an evacuation.
If a threat is outside the school you need an invacuation - a way of getting everyone inside just as fast. Any breaks or lessons being held outside are halted, external doors secured and registers taken to ensure everyone is accounted for. This is known as a partial lockdown.
More severe circumstances may require a total lockdown. This further step involves securing internal doors and windows and either:
