Blake's personnel spend a lot of time educating schools and businesses about fire safety. But what about when the worst happens and you have to send for the Fire Brigade?

They go about their daily lives as normal BUT morph into paid firefighters when their pager sounds.

Many on-call firefighters are in full time employment - either with a local business or working for themselves.
Essex County Fire & Rescue are also looking for local businesses who are willing to employ on-call firefighters.
If you're looking to support your local community, employing an on-call firefighter gives you access to highly trained professionals who have many transferable skills. They can bring real value to your local business.
The thing that business owners worry about is the cost of having an employee who will need to leave immediately if they are called to an incident. What happens about the time lost?
Arrangements for being on-call for the Fire Brigade whilst at work are unique to each business. This could be to stop payment when the firefighter is called to an incident. Or to allow the employee to make up the time lost when they return from the incident or at a later date. Or something completely different, it's up to you what works best!
And don't worry if your employee has to be in Do Not Disturb mode for a while. There is the option to book as unavailable for a call out if they are working on something that can't be interrupted.
